Dr Guillaume SÉBIRE is a specialist in Pediatric Neurology, researcher (PhD in Neurosciences, University of Paris), and Professor at McGill University. He investigates the interaction between the nervous and immune systems, particularly the role of inflammatory mediators in brain dysfunctions resulting from prematurity, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and stroke. His research aims to understand the causes of those diseases and develop new neuroprotective treatments using preclinical animal models. His research is supported by the Heart and Stroke Foundation, CIHR, Brain Canada, University of Jean-Monnet in France, and Foundation of Stars. He published more than 150 articles and book chapters, in collaboration with more than 50 students that he trained.
